Our COVID-19 Safety Plan

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have had to make many health and safety changes to the way we do business. The changes that have been put in place must always be followed to ensure the safety of all employees and customers.

We have posted to the public what our rules are before entering.

1

Only two people at a time, and you must stay in the designated spots on the floor.

Please use hand sanitizer when in the building.

If you feel ill or think you may have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19, please do not enter our facility. We will get your parts to you in another way.

Employees

2

Wherever possible, please stay 2 metres apart. As most of our activities are done alone, this should be easy to do.

Please do not hang around in the office during breaks.

Maintain the recommended distances and have your breaks around your work area or in your vehicle.

Limit the lunchroom occupancy to two people at a time, sit apart, and stagger breaks if needed to avoid close contact with others.

Reduce the amount of time spent in the sales area to limit exposure to the sales staff and the public.

Make sure parts have been cleaned before customers take them.

All workspaces have been rearranged to ensure the 2-metre rule for the safety of the employee and the customer.

At this time, we will not be using the water cooler, coffee machine, or vending machines to help reduce the spread of any germs.

Barriers have been installed on the front counter to reduce the risk of physical contact with customers.

Any tools or machinery that are shared by employees must be sanitized before others use them.

Customer vehicles will be wiped down before work starts and when work is finished. Covers will be placed on the seats and removed when work is done.

All commonly touched surfaces will be cleaned regularly. This includes the sales area, washrooms, doorknobs, taps, toilet handles, light switches, debit machines, countertops, desks, tables, phones, keyboards, etc.

There are sanitizing products in the office. Please ask if you need any cleaning supplies to follow the sanitizing guidelines.

All employees are required to wash their hands regularly

3

When you arrive at work.

Before breaks and after using the washroom.

After handling cash or other materials that have come into contact with the public.

Before and after handling shared tools and equipment

Before and after using masks or any other personal protective equipment

Before leaving at the end of the day.

There are hand washing posters for the best way to wash and the most effective method.

All employees are required to fill out our weekly Assessment for COVID-19. This will help determine your ability to work in a safe environment for all staff members and the public.

4

Anyone showing signs or symptoms of COVID, which include fever, chills, new or worsening cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, and new muscle aches and pains or headache.

Anyone who has travelled outside of Canada within the last ten days

If you fall into one of these categories, you must not come to work. You must self-isolate for a minimum of 10 days to a maximum of 14 days. Please phone the office. Do not come to work.

Currently, there are to be no visitors in the workplace. If an employee becomes sick during work hours, they must seek a first aid attendant. They will then be asked to wash or sanitize their hands and be given a mask and isolated. The worker will be asked to go straight home and consult the 811 COVID line for further guidance.

If a worker is severely ill, call 911.

All areas that the ill worker was in contact with will be cleaned and disinfected ASAP.

The first aid attendants have been given a guide to help treat patients in a safe manner and will use the proper personal protective equipment when treating a patient. They will follow the proper cleaning procedures once treatment is done.

Our staff will be receiving ongoing training and reminders of the importance of good hygiene and the roles and responsibilities of their jobs if they have been altered due to COVID. We will keep our employees up to date as things change or need to be updated.
